Sweet Little Nothings Do Count for
Something
by Kori Puckett
After the first, brilliant anniversary gift idea has been used up, impressing
your significant other tends to get a bit more difficult. At least it does in
your mind. You think you have to come up with some expensive, elaborate gift
for the next time.
Well, no. Sometimes it's the little (inexpensive, even free) things we do that
are the most appreciated and leave a lasting impression. For example, you
could:
* Write love notes on the mirror, so it'll be one of the first things they see
in the morning when they wake up.
* Take a spin around the room to their favorite CD or song.
* Leave little love notes and poems here and there--at the workplace, in the
mailbox, on the dashboard, etc.
* Make them breakfast in bed. A flower or other small gift may add a nice
touch.
* Cook dinner for the night, especially if you're not the one who usually does
the cooking. Or you could order in a
special meal.
*Have a picnic in your yard or in the park if you can, especially on a starry
night. This would also be the perfect opportunity to add a little extra and
present your sweetie with their own star as a first anniversary gift idea (or
any other occasion).
Or you could decorate a room in your house with glow-in-the-dark stars on the
ceiling to recreate the night outdoors.
* Give them some love coupons so they can request sweet little nothing favors
from you whenever they want. Love coupons in themselves are wonderful wedding
anniversary gift ideas and you can buy them or make them yourself.
You can probably come up with more ideas. But always remember: Price doesn't
matter. Size doesn't matter. Color doesn't matter, unless they have an intense
hatred for a particular shade of blue or something ;) The best first wedding
anniversary gift idea (or any romantic gift idea) is one that comes from the
heart and one that your significant other will truly love.

Three Ingenious
Anniversary Gift Ideas
By David Chandler
If you have met the person or the couple
several times you must be familiar with how they express themselves.
Therefore, one of the best anniversary gift ideas would be to portray that
pose through a life-size pencil sketch and frame it in bamboo or white plywood
Anniversary gift ideas should have
sentimental values. An enlarged photograph or a life-size poster could be made
of the pet, their first car, or any favourite item the couple may share.
There are also “traditional” anniversary
gifts. Each anniversary year has a specific theme. For example, the
traditional gift for the first anniversary is paper, the second year is
cotton, and the third is leather and so on. Any good address book will list
the traditional anniversary gift ideas in the back of the book.
You may have several anniversary gift
ideas but try this one of these: Fill a glass sphere with fluid such as water
and seal it. Now get it to work on electronic principle. Record some tunes
that the couple hum (their voices). Then make a toy putting the two together
and place the sphere on sand. Whenever the position of the fluid in the sphere
will change a humming tune will be heard. The couple will surely enjoy your
creative idea and such a personalized gift. You could also make ring tones
from their humming tunes and download them in the mobile phones of the couple.
Indeed both ideas are innovative and personal.
In closing, anniversary gifts should be a
gift that comes from the heart. Whether it is homemade or store bought. The
gift should reflect the personality of the couple as much as possible.

Gift Baskets Are
Great Gift Ideas
By Kathy Burns-Millyard
When you're struggling for a great gift
idea - whether for a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or just because - gift
baskets are almost always a sure bet. Sooner or later in life, everyone needs
to buy a gift. But not everyone can come up with unique, cool, or even
practical gift ideas. So when you're not sure what kind of gift to buy, gift
baskets are a safe and sensible choice. The beauty of gift baskets is their
universal appeal. Gift baskets can be given to men, women and children. In
fact, they could well be the closest thing to the perfect gift, because they
can be completely designed to suit the giver, recipient, occasion, time, and
place.
When it comes to gift basket giving,
keeping it traditional is often better. Your goal is to give gifts that
someone wants or needs, right? Now imagine giving someone a whole basket full
of gifts that they have no use for. Not only is this embarrassing for you - if
and when you do find out - but it's extremely disappointing for the recipient.
So fuss and specialty aside, here's some
traditional gift basket ideas that are sure to be hits:
Gourmet Gift Basket: The gourmet basket is
the poster child of the gift basket industry. A gourmet gift basket typically
includes chocolates, cookies, cheese, crackers, hard candies, nut mixes, and
snacks - all presented in a beautiful wicker or reed basket. They come in
various sizes, usually small to jumbo, and can range in price from thirty
dollars to several hundred.
Fruit Basket: Who wouldn't want to receive
a handsome wicker basket overflowing with luscious fruits such as Tangelos,
Bartlett and Star Crimson pears, Fuji and Royal Gala apples, Bing cherries and
more? Fruit excites the palate and warms the heart. And you can send a
smorgasbord of premium fruit for under a hundred dollars.
Candle Basket: It's hard to go wrong with
candles. The soothing glow and refreshing aroma of a lit candle has cast a
spell. In fact, according to USA Today, consumers spent more than $8.4 million
dollars last year on candles and home fragrances. That's a lot of wax!
Mesmerizing, candles are indeed one of life's little luxuries and a top gift
basket pick. One note of caution: gift basket retailers like to pair up
candles with spa products and home decor. So, if you're looking for a
candle-only basket, try visiting a candle speciality shop, and creating your
own candle gift basket from scratch.
If you're struggling to find the perfect
gift or just plain lost for time, a traditional gift basket is the ideal
solution. They are the perfect way to say, "Happy Birthday, Congratulations,
Thanks or Just Because."

5 Tips For That
Perfect Wedding Anniversary
By Janice Wee
Your wedding anniversary is a major event.
Prepare for your wedding anniversary celebration in advance. I got some of
these ideas from watching how my dad treats my mom on her birthday and on
their wedding anniversaries.
1. Start off right. Get up before she does to prepare a quick breakfast. Serve
her breakfast in bed. You might want to plan out the menu and buy the
necessary things you need to cook a great breakfast the day before your
anniversary. Take a shower after that and return to her side. On the other
hand, if you are the sort who makes a major mess of the kitchen whenever you
cook anything or even when you make a cup of tea, then skip the breakfast in
bed part. She might have a fit when she sees the kitchen after that.
2. Present her with a bouquet of roses. Order the roses a day or more in
advance and have them delivered right to the doorstep. She might chide you for
wasting money, but she would be secretly very pleased with that romantic
gesture.
3. If your kids are still young, book a babysitter in advance. You don't want
your night to be ruined by crying babies at your table in the restaurant when
you are trying to have a romantic candle lit dinner for two. Do go for a
candle light dinner. Just the 2 of you in a favourite restaurant.
4. Relax together and take a break from your regular routine. If you both can,
take a day's leave from work. Make your arrangements in the office in advance.
If you can't try to go home early for a change, so you can spend more time
together.
5. Don't forget the
wedding anniversary gifts. There is a different gift for each year or
marriage. You might want to go with the traditional or modern gift this
anniversary.
